I was chatting to my other half about Ospreys whilst scanning the sky with the binoculars - and what did I see as I was talking? Yes, an Osprey! It was over the far side of the Loch and heading in our direction. Eventually it was close enough to see that it had a fish in its talons. It then flew right overhead, giving us a great view. My other half took these photos as it passed by, note the missing tail feather. It was a shame the sun was behind it, otherwise it would've been perfectly lit.
I took this photo of a Black-Headed Gull bobbing about further along the beachLater we walked around to the Kingfisher Hide, which is just off the Heritage Trail. It overlooks a shingle bank and there were various Gulls, a couple of Lapwing and Cormorants gathered on it.
