Meall Chuaich - 951m (3120ft)

November 2006 and April 2008
The first time we tried to hike the munro Meall Chuaich, near Dalwhinne, there was snow on the ground, getting deeper as we gained altitude. We didn't make it to the top, due to lack of daylight hours and my tired legs after trudging through knee-high snow! The scenery looked very beautiful though, cloaked in white.

Our second attempt at Meall Chuaich was more successful. The snow was above 900m, which made walking a lot easier for most of the hike than the previous attempt.

Visibility was excellent on that day, with clear views of the Cairngorms.
