Snowdrops & Sea Birds

The snowdrops are in bloom in Scotland. I saw my first lot last weekend, and there were plenty about on our coastal walk on Sunday.

We had a walk along the beach south of St. Andrews and spotted plenty of oyster catchers and cormorants in the area.

Other bulbs are also starting to poke out of the ground. Saw a few crocuses but none in my garden as the wild rabbits like to eat them! Daffodil bulbs are about 4 inches tall so will be out by the end of March I expect.

Glensherup Walk

8 February 2009

Hiked along to Glensherup reservoir and then up onto Ben Shee. The reservoir was frozen over and snow was reasonably thick all around.

Spotted a short-eared owl flying around the hillside.

Two ravens flew past honking loudly.
