I spotted this robin while I was out walking in the local hills this morning.

Autumn Morning

It was a lovely morning today, so I went into the Ochil hills to take some photos.

I would've had a good picture of a stonechat, but the camera wouldn't focus quickly enough so all I ended up with was four blurred shots.

Moss & Lichen

I took these photos on my morning walk with my Labrador. I had to get in very close with the macro setting on the camera.

The lichen and moss was very small, just a centimetre or so in height, but these photos make it seem like they were huge!

Seals - Portgordon, Moray

I spent the weekend in the North East of Scotland and saw seals at Portgordon, Moray.

They were bathing in the sun on the rocks, close to the shore, so I was able to get some nice photos of them.

Red Deer Photos

Photos taken today of the Red Deer

Stag roaring - just a shame he wasn't looking in my direction when he did it!

Fungi Photos

Various fungi spotted when I was in the Lochalsh and Skye areas.

Spotted this goldcrest in the garden at the weekend. Photos are a bit blurry as it was darting around all over the place! Lovely little thing though.

Red Deer Rut

I have red deer living nearby and every year around this time the rut starts.

I've been listening to the stags for most of the day, and they get quite active once it is dark, their roars filling the night.

I'm going to try and get some photos of them in the next few days to upload on here. So watch this space!

Encounters - Skye and Lochalsh

I returned a couple of weeks ago from my first visit to the Skye and Lochalsh areas of Scotland - such a beautiful area.

I had a close- encounter with golden eagles whilst hiking up Sgurr na Coinnich on Skye.

At first I thought I was spotting a buzzard, but then I heard the cry. I looked across and then saw one even closer to us, and just below where we were walking. It was so big, I felt like I could climb on it's back and fly away with it!

They flew onwards and then circled above the hill for a while, there was three of them in total in the end.

My other half had to shout at me to take photos as I was so in awe!

I spotted this robin near the end of a walk and it happily posed for me.

Bealach Na Ba

This deer was sillouetted on the horizon as we drove up the Bealanch na Ba road to Applecross, in very thick mist.

As we turned the bend, I managed to photograph it through the mist.
